Hooded Fleece Vest

Anyone seeking a practical yet fashionable addition to their fall and winter wardrobe should think about the hooded fleece vest. Fleece is a versatile and warm material that can be either synthetic or natural. When many people think of fleece they imagine shearing sheep, which is in fact where some fleece comes from. However a great many of the fleece vests, pullovers and jackets on the market today are synthetic and made from materials like polyester, often blended with other fabrics for ultimate wearability.

While most vests of this type zip up and do not feature a hood, you will find that a vest with a fleece hood attached can be very useful indeed. If the wind picks up and your ears get cold the hood will keep them warm. Perfect for kids of all ages, a fleece vest with a hood can be layered over most any long sleeve top and under any jacket or coat. Microfleece is an especially light and stretchy variety of fleece that is great for that layered look. While the hood doesn't have to be worn it is nice to know it's there in case temperatures drop.

You'll find this kind of vest available for men, women and kids from many different manufacturers. The North Face, Columbia and Polartec are a few top companies who produce fine quality fleece apparel. There are even hooded vests made from fleece available from companies like Bebini which sells European infant wear and Ethical Products Inc. which sells clothing for dogs. You can outfit the whole family in stylish warmth this season, even your four-legged family members.

One of the best resources for finding the ideal hooded fleece vest for your particular needs is the Internet. With a search engine query you can track down vests from lots of different manufacturers and stores. Some online retailers offer shipping discounts for customers who order a certain amount of merchandise from them. Whether you buy your vests online or in a traditional brick and mortar store you're sure to appreciate the warm softness of fleece when the weather gets cold. When considering what size to buy, keep in mind you will likely be layering over a long sleeve top. Most of the time your normal size will work fine for a fleece vest but if that turns out too tight once it is layered you may want to go up a size or find a lighter top to go underneath.
